: Your first
appointment an hour and twenty minutes long where a detailed patient intake
is made, including a complete health history and physical examination.
This first appointment is very important, since it will form the
basis of your eventual treatment plan.
After
thoroughly reviewing your case, a carefully drafted treatment
plan is presented to you. This treatment plan
is the "blue print" to treating your condition. It is a custom-made,
multi-approach program that incorporates various Treatment
Modalities geared towards your unique condition.
The success of your treatment depends very much on how well you
follow your treatment plan.
Follow up visits
are necessary to monitor your progress as well as make adjustments
to the treatment plan, as new events arise.
The number of follow up visits varies according to the condition of each patient.
Our approach differs
from traditional family medicine in that:
- We spend much more time with
your intake and listening to your particular condition. We encourage questions
and dialogue from our patients.
- We do not prescribe drugs. We are surprised to see many of our first
time patients that come in are on more than one prescription drug,
prescribed by their family doctor. In many cases it is the side-effects of these
drugs that have become the cause of their illness.
- We do not perform surgery. We
believe that with early diagnosis, along with preventive therapies, surgery can be
avoided in most cases.
- Our methods are non-invasive and have no harmful side effects, unlike prescription
drugs.
- We perform diagnostic testing not typically offered through traditional family medicine.
The type of woman who comes to Annapurna Naturopathic is very much committed to improving her state of health. She not only desires to treat her condition but wants to raise the bar as far as her overall state of health is concerned. Many women have tried conventional doctors with limited success and come seeking alternative methods of treatment. Some are simply looking for something not offered in the current medical model or by their family doctor. Many are looking for second opinions or just assistance at navigating their particular health issue. Some patients act as ambassadors, bringing in a friend or a family member for treatment who would otherwise not have been aware or have access to our services. One of the great things about Naturopathic medicine is the option of working with your conventional family doctor or specialist in offering complete health care. With our experience and level of commitment, our success rates are very high. Please see our success stories page for more information.
